Sun, 6 September 2009 In this super-long episode, the Ladies welcome Insomnia Publications' creative director (and fellow lady nerd) Nic Wilkinson to the show by giving her a proper good grilling! Nic explains what Insomnia is, what it does, how they go about doing it and how she has learnt not to sleep in order to achieve it. Nic gives her thoughts on the compilation of anthology comics, the importance of conventions, signings, and the UK comics and publishing industry. But it's not all work and no play as the Racks discover Nic's favourite songs to play on Rock Band, her love of all things meat, and the all-important nugget of information; her favourite swear word.As well as this delightful interview, all the usual segments are covered as Stace almost cries at being so behind in reading Walking Dead, Iz gets repeatedly jealous of Stace, and the girls get over-excited by Geoff Johns. Reviews this episode include some sort-of-old comics in the forms of Infinite Crisis and Villains United, as well as some new stuff including The Unwritten, Red Robin and Gotham City Sirens. The Disney-Marvel take-over is discussed (you may not have heard about it, it's not big news :P), as well other very important news stories such as the X-Men motion comic trailer, a Del Toro Deadman film in the works, and Stacey's impending 24th birthday! A-woo-hoo! So sit back, make yourself a nice hot cuppa, and enjoy Stacebob's return in this extra-long, extra-awesome episode! Comments[2] |
Hey girls! First time listening to the podcast and this was long but fantastic! :D
I'm a long time comic book reader and honestly heard of ya from Gail Simone through another comic book podcast.
I was VERY impressed with Ms. Wilkinson and her comic book general knowledge and agreed with her on a lot of points.
I will probably be looking out for your new podcasts when they come out, but being new, I'm not sure if you have a regular date or what.
Thanks again for making my first time very pleasurable! ;D

Hiya Michael :)
Thanks for checking us out. I swear, one day I will have to buy Gail a present for all the pimping she's done for us!
Nic was great to have on the show; we hadn't planned to do such a long episode but we started the inteview and then nothing could stop us!
We try to bust an episode out every fortnight, and they're usually out on a Monday (though sometimes they're delayed til a Tuesday because editing down all our ramblings is difficult :P)
Thanks for listening, and I hope you enjoy any more episodes you decide to check out :)
